Santogal Ferrari Madrid customers had the opportunity to take an
exceptional trip to Maranello. Where the Ferrari headquarters and the dream
factory are located.
Attendees were able to visit the Maranello factory and test drive the
Roma Spider on the first day. With its performance and timeless elegance, the
Ferrari Roma Spider reinterprets the Italian style of the 50s and 60s in a
contemporary key. The great novelty of this spider, which takes up the
proportions, volumes and technology used in the concept already seen in the
Ferrari Roma, lies in the removable fabric roof, a solution that returns to the
Prancing Horse's front-engined range 54 years after its appearance on the 1969
365 GTS4. As a good Ferrari, it has a top level of performance thanks to its V8
engine and an aluminium chassis with a number of modifications, such as the
rear axle which is inspired by that of the Portofino M; the windscreen is also
changed, with more rigidity. The gearbox that manages power to the rear wheels
is an eight-speed DCT. It is operated via a module located behind the
multimedia screen and features gear ratios reminiscent of those used in manual
gearboxes.
At the end they enjoyed a private visit to the Ferrari factory, where
they were able to learn about the artisanal process of manufacturing Italian
models. The evening ended at the Cavallino Restaurant, a benchmark of Italian
gastronomy with a menu prepared by Massimo Bottura, 3 Michelin stars.
The original Ristorante Cavallino building, located on the boundary
between the Ferrari factory, the Gestione Sportiva department and the new
Flagship Store in Maranello, has undergone a thorough refurbishment process
that has transformed it into an oasis of flavours, relaxation, discovery and
entertainment. All enriched by a unique collection of memorabilia and unique
pieces rediscovered in the company's historical archives and displayed to the
public to relive the Ferrari legend in the various rooms of the restaurant, the
garden and the terrace.
The following morning the guests returned to the Fiorano track to drive
the new Ferrari 296. The Italian hybrid model, an evolution of Ferrari's
two-seater mid-engined rear mid-engined sports berlinetta spider, benefits from
the new 120° V6 engine coupled to a plug-in electric motor (PHEV), already seen
in the 296 GTB, capable of delivering up to 830 hp. The car thus redefines the
idea of driving fun by guaranteeing pure thrills not only when seeking maximum
performance, but also in everyday driving.
A trip that will remain in the memory of the guests.
